ᐅ Current Installation Costs of a Heat Pump

Hello,

we are planning to replace our oil heating system with a heat pump as soon as possible (with subsidies), and I would appreciate your help in understanding what the current costs might be and what would be considered overpriced. We do not have a quote yet but are in contact with a reputable company that also includes an energy consultant for the subsidies.

Our house has a living area of 130 square meters (1400 square feet) spread over 3 floors, plus a basement that is at street level on the downhill side due to the slope. The house was built in 1930 but underwent extensive renovation in 2008, including insulation of the facade and roof, new windows, replacement of water pipes and electrical wiring, and installation of solar panels for hot water. We have also installed a small balcony solar system. Due to large dormers, there is limited roof space suitable for photovoltaic panels.

Unfortunately, there is no underfloor heating, but radiators, some of which are quite old and probably should be replaced. There are a total of 12 radiators.

Our current annual oil consumption is about 1500-1600 liters (400-420 gallons).

I’m not sure what other information is needed to get a rough idea, so I’ll leave it at that and wait for any questions.

I hope you can give me a rough estimate so I can better evaluate offers.

Thanks in advance!

How do you get the subsidy if you don’t receive a specialized contractor declaration?

Who says you won’t receive one?

Out of curiosity, I recently checked with the first four providers from classifieds across Germany. Two were larger heating system installers (also offering air conditioning/plumbing) or companies with a proper website and legal form GmbH (limited liability company), one was a smaller company whose qualifications were registered on a platform, and one was a sole proprietor who listed their registration information directly in the site’s imprint.

If I officially hire a heating system installer and they handle the entire process including applications for the KfW (or similar), because they are authorized to do so, then as a customer I can expect that they are allowed to sign the specialized contractor declaration on behalf of their company (which, unfortunately, the KfW or similar authorities do not actually verify).

Update:

Since I received quite a few helpful responses to my question, here is an update.
We recently received a quote of about 29,000 euros, which includes everything. If we help out a bit where possible (like preparing the foundation for the heat pump, cutting up the oil tank, etc.), the price might come down slightly. Since we qualify for a 70% subsidy (it’s great that our parental leave periods fall within the right years for income calculation), this is manageable for us, even though it might have been possible to get it cheaper.
The work will be carried out at the beginning of May, and I hope our oil will last until then.

Congratulations, although I find it completely absurd to subsidize something like this with 70% public funding...

Thank you.
Yes. One might find it absurd, but somehow it would also be absurd for us not to take advantage of it, right?

No, I would also go for that, no question.
