LorcherHello everyone,
I am planning to build a cube-shaped bungalow of 100-110 m² (1,076-1,184 sq ft) in 2020 and have been researching timber frame and solid wood construction methods. Does anyone have experience with solid wood construction... and maybe a price per cubic meter just for the carpentry work as a self-build shell?
Thank you very much.
Best regards
Rainer

Take a look in the house photo thread, @Climbee is currently building with timber, and I think @haydee also built with wood. In Bavaria (BY), which is not too far from Baden-Württemberg (BW): www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/hausbilder-thread.14011
In my opinion, the term “shell construction” is more appropriate when referring to masonry or timber frame buildings, where the interfaces between the trades not included in the package are more familiar.

We have a solid timber house.
It is possible to have it as a shell house. I don’t see any problems with that, and it has already been done.
It’s better to ask about the price yourself. I do have a cost estimate, but it is for a turnkey passive house from 2016. The price I could give you would be too low.
We built with Wir Leben Haus and can recommend the company.
