Volker16831 Jul 2020 18:24Hello,
I want to replace the siphon because it is now damaged. In the process, I noticed that something is wrong (see photo).
Does anyone have a similarly creative solution to do this better? The previously considered bottle trap probably won’t work.
This also explains why the water sometimes drains poorly.
Slightly frustrated regards

but actually the drain hole is much too high.

@Tassimat, water just doesn’t flow uphill. There’s no need for the water to flow uphill. When you pour water in, it drains away. That’s the basic principle of a siphon.
From hampshire’s response, I now understand that the trap is installed too high. The water doesn’t mind, but debris will have difficulty draining properly there.
-edit- If this were a rainwater drainage, a trap seal height of 100mm (4 inches) according to DIN 1986-100 would actually be correct.
