Hello, no idea why my last thread was deleted... I wanted to position the access points myself in my floor plan to see how the Wi-Fi range changes. Someone had already done something like this for me in the deleted thread (which is now gone). However, I can’t add any access points at all because I don’t have a system running?!?? Is there a way to do this in a demo mode or something? I haven’t found any information about this.
Correct. You can use "virtual devices."
Map -> top left on "Floorplan" -> hamburger menu "Place Devices" -> "Virtual Devices," and there you have all the devices available.
Edit: I'm starting to wonder why posts are often deleted here without the original poster being given a reason. That somehow makes the forum less welcoming.

The heatmap is only an estimate. You still need to trace the walls accordingly.
Transmit power and channel control also play a role.
In a "normal" house, you can plan to have one access point on the ceiling in each room where you need speed (living room, office, etc.). Then add one outside. This way, there should be coverage everywhere. It’s different with reinforced concrete...

@Teemoe86: I just can’t find anything there, no matter how hard I try. Is that feature only available in the English version? I’m currently using the latest German version, and I can’t add virtual appliances. Creating the floor plan worked, but since there are no appliances available, I can’t insert anything there.
