Hello, in our new build (moved in 6/22) we have been noticing horizontal cracks in the middle of the walls for some time. One crack extends from the hallway through the bathroom to the bedroom, and cracks are also appearing in the corners of other rooms. All of this is only on the upper floor – at the ring beam level. In the basement, we also have cracks at the ceiling-to-wall junctions where there is drywall instead of a concrete ceiling. One crack between the utility room and the main house is vertical, both inside and outside. This is also being repaired. According to the construction company, this is due to the absence of an expansion joint. Any experiences or advice would be appreciated, thanks!
Exterior view: gray downpipe on the wall, black sealing at the bottom; orange PVC pipe on the floor.

White interior wall corner with visible crack line and rough surface texture.

Small measuring card with scale on a white wall; finger holding it, fine crack line visible.

Interior: white wall with a fine hairline crack, door frame on the left and gray wall side on the right.

We also have cracks on the upper floor. Since we have plastered walls, these are likely cracks along the mortar joints. It’s best to have the site manager take a look. The exterior should already be weatherproof.

Is this a solid construction house or timber frame construction?
