Hello everyone,

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post, but I’ll go ahead with my question:
The masonry of our ground floor was completed this week. Today, we inspected the shell of the building and noticed a few small cracks in the interior wall bricks (see photo).

Since I’m not familiar with this at all, my question is:
Is this normal, or could it cause problems?

Best regards,
Michaela

Hello!
Construction has finally started on our building site.
Unfortunately, today I noticed a crack in the masonry beneath the future window (see photo). How serious is this? Should I report it to the construction company?
Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards

Wow, honestly: It’s better to stay away and let the professionals do their work...

And objectively: Completely normal and definitely not a defect – the explanations from the building experts apply here as well.

Are you serious??? If so, it’s better to visit the construction site less often and only go with someone who knows what they’re doing, otherwise you’ll lose all your nerves before you move in.

This suggests a settlement of the foundation slab caused by a shift in the soil layers. You should demolish everything, excavate the soil down to the soil layers, and properly compact it :-p

Joking aside: it’s completely harmless, so relax!
