Hello everyone,
we are strongly leaning towards white wooden interior doors, so here is the question: CPL or white lacquer?
Based on our research so far, CPL seems to be more durable and easier to maintain, especially because of children.

Furthermore, we quite like doors with stripes or so-called moldings (nice to have), but unfortunately the range for CPL + white + molding appears to be quite limited or rather expensive. What are your recommendations and opinions regarding surface finishes?

At friends’ houses, the doors have yellowed after 6 years.

We deliberately avoided using moldings or similar details to keep the design timeless.

I'm afraid that's likely to happen! About 5 years ago, we added a few white kitchen cabinets from Ikea to our kitchen, and they have all turned yellow (and nobody in our household smokes). They look so bad that they’re basically useless now. It would be really frustrating to have yellow doors after a few years and have to replace them all. Do you know if your friends have laminate doors or painted doors?

Best regards,
Sabine

We have CPL and are quite satisfied so far, and we have already received many compliments – although I believe you always get compliments when you build something, no matter how it looks; kind of like with babies.

We have white CPL doors, but we have only been living in the new house for 1.5 weeks. We chose white door panels and knotty oak frames. We really like it, and it’s a nice change from having the frame and door in the same color.

I hope and don’t think the doors will yellow significantly... They are definitely easy to clean, and so far I have been able to easily wipe off every dirty fingerprint.
