Nayla_106821 Dec 2012 13:05Hi,
no, it doesn’t fit there. The plinth drawer is 16cm (6.3 inches) high, just like the plinth itself. So a part of the plinth acts as the front for the plinth drawer. In this case, it’s really quite simple. 😀

Georg_101121 Dec 2012 19:49The installation manual states that it should be 13.8cm (5.4 inches) wide, which is less than 16cm (6.3 inches). So, cutting it yourself is necessary, right? Are edge bands included with the plinth drawer?

IKEA-Experte21 Dec 2012 20:17There is an aluminum panel included. You can attach a piece of kickboard molding to it, which is clearly shown in a picture in the kitchen catalog. You can also leave out the aluminum panel entirely and instead cover the back of the kickboard molding with a piece of foil. The aluminum panel mainly just adds unnecessary cost.
Edging tape is included with the kickboard molding. I would recommend using a fully enclosed plinth overall, otherwise you might have issues with the dishwasher. In my opinion, an open plinth with a drawer in between is also quite poor.
