These prices at home improvement stores are always tempting, I know. Just carefully consider whether you want to deal with cracked tiles later or even retile in 2-3 years.
You should definitely do that and answer the above questions during your visit; quality has always had its price, but you will enjoy the flooring for a long time.
If you can tile yourself, then probably only your own time is a factor. If you have "good acquaintances," their rates matter; they often charge around €40 per hour plus materials, which brings you close to the price offered by prefabricated house suppliers.
A simple standard setup costs about €2,600 for fixtures including a walk-in shower. The wall area in square meters times the height (how high you want to tile) times the tile price including installation costs will add on top of that.
This price refers to tile installation including materials; a common rate in the industry.
Kind regards

We have now thought about tiling the entire house and found nice tiles at the home improvement store for 15 euros per m² (5 USD per sq ft).

I think we will still visit a specialist tile supplier.

What would a bathroom including sanitary fixtures roughly cost? (not super luxury – but turnkey) We looked at prices at the home improvement store. For example, I would like the shower tiled without a cabin.

The prefabricated house provider quoted us around 85 euros per m².

So, I calculated the total area to be tiled and came up with 110m² (1,184 sq ft).
Roughly estimated in my head, I ended up with around 10,000 euros, rounded up, and I’ll let the prefab house company handle the bathroom – that way, the warranty is included.
I’ll have to add that to my budget plan, aka the “I’m getting a headache” plan...
But if they have good tiles at the sample center in Mühlbach-Kärlich, maybe I can finally sleep well again.
Many thanks to Bauexperte for all the answers to the many questions in the many subforums.
