Hello,
Today we received a quote from our civil engineer for the drainage work. Since I am not able to assess the offer at all, I would appreciate some feedback.
The plan is to connect wastewater and rainwater to separate inspection shafts, and to carry out a leak test on both.
The quote lists the following costs, each plus VAT:
Site setup 250
Pipe installation including 100kg, per linear meter 33.90
Leak test according to DIN standard with report and plan 670

A total of 3,400€ for about 50m (164 feet).

Is the price reasonable? The leak test seems quite expensive to me.

Thank you

Because according to DIN and so on... roughly speaking, it would cost about half, but whether that is enough for you is something you have to decide. Otherwise, I would say the price is fair... of course, it also depends on how they do the backfilling and whether there will be a garden or driveway or something over the pipes later on...

When inspecting, I don’t really have a choice, do I, or did I misunderstand that?

I have no idea how they will backfill it. There is mostly gravel already where the pipes will run because they will be located under the driveway, path, and terrace.

Well, you always have a choice; the DIN standard is just one option... unless the water authority explicitly requires something... then you have no choice.

Leakage tests according to DIN standards are unfortunately required for both wastewater and rainwater systems.

What do you mean by unfortunately... Without an inspection, you won’t know if it’s watertight. And it’s supposed to be watertight, right, or does that not matter?
