In the middle of planning our house, we have received the first quote from an electrician.
A quick overview of the house: about 150m² (1,615 sq ft) plus a basement.
In addition to power outlets on all floors and 8 network connections (4 of them in the living room), we have planned electric roller shutters (each controlled individually) and about 24 recessed ceiling lights. Of course, there are also connections for the washing machine, dryer, stove, etc., as well as thermostats for the underfloor heating.
Overall, no major extras.
The first quote is over €14,000, which seems very expensive to us.
What puzzles me:
He charges €32 per power outlet. That’s fine, but when 4 outlets are installed side by side, he charges 4 times €32 (including installation). Is that normal? The same applies to the network connections, of course.
I look forward to your assessments.

I am, of course, looking forward to your assessments. How many power outlets are there exactly?
With 100-120 outlets including everything, the price including VAT should be reasonable.
For comparison:
For our house construction, bids for standard wiring were not below €17,000
And offers with KNX started at €30,000
Everything fully complete..

Of course, I look forward to your assessments. Get a second comparable quote, maybe even a third. Anything else is just guesswork...
