Hello gufril,

You should already have the foundation slab as a quote, including strip footings, edge insulation, drainage connections, and a membrane/welding sheet to prevent rising moisture. This should be around €18,000 (about $19,800) including the garage slab. You can estimate the cistern at approximately €4,000 (about $4,400). For the inspection chamber and sewer connection, I would budget around €3,000 (about $3,300), and the removal of topsoil with a capillary-breaking layer at about €2,500 (about $2,750).

Just ask Glatthaar for a list of builders in your area and get quotes from them.

Have fun building, and don’t forget to check the depth of the window sills according to the construction specifications.

Hello 6Richtige,
Thank you for your response! Your estimate of 18,000 EUR is not too far off, although without a garage a strip foundation should be sufficient.

We are currently obtaining quotes for the rest, and the initial results are not promising! Your estimate of 5,500 EUR is quite off—guess in which direction.

Well, now we will wait for the remaining quotes and start raiding our piggy banks...

Best regards,
Andreas

PS: Of course, I always check the windowsills! Always! Is there anyone who doesn’t do that, tsts?

Hello Andreas,

you can go ahead and post the quotes for the earthworks per m2/m3, in my next life I’ll become a civil engineer too, that’s where the “golden ground” really applies and all that.
