Hello,
we are currently planning our dream house and are considering whether to install a ventilation system. The house has about 175 sqm (1884 sq ft) of living space spread over two floors. The room layout is as follows:
Ground floor:
- Study
- Guest toilet with shower
- Utility room
- Kitchen
- Living/dining room
- Hallway
Upper floor:
- Child 1
- Child 2
- Office
- Bathroom with shower and bathtub
- Dressing room
- Bedroom
Is it necessary to have two ceiling vents in some rooms (e.g., living room)?
What are the approximate costs for hardware and installation? We have unfortunately received very different information.
Thanks and best regards
Julian

The number of ceiling outlets required depends on the type of system being installed and the planned diameters, among other factors. You need a proper plan for this first.
It is not possible to give a general answer.
Regarding the price, nothing exact can be said either, as it varies greatly. You can only compare what has already been installed and paid for in each case.
Anything between 10,000 and 20,000 is possible.

That strongly depends on the builder.
Prices for the hardware are relatively easy to find online. This way, you can compare whether the markup is reasonable.
For 175 m² (1,884 sq ft), I wouldn’t go below a 350 m³/h (206 cfm) system. This gives you a reference point. Smaller systems almost always have to run at nearly full capacity.

Our Zehnder Comfoair Q350 cost exactly 9998€ from our supplier. The price includes all hardware, installation, ventilation planning, etc., as well as commissioning by the manufacturer. Generally, the cost depends entirely on what the general contractor/supplier/installation company charges 🙂 Prices for the same unit can vary greatly, ranging anywhere from 10,000€ to 20,000€.
