ᐅ Costs for a Central Air Conditioning System in New Construction

Has anyone had experience with installing a central air conditioning system?

I am planning to install a central air conditioning system for 5 rooms in a new build: 4 units on the upper floor (one per room – 72 m² (775 sq ft)) and one on the ground floor (living room with an open-plan kitchen – also 72 m² (775 sq ft)). The construction company estimated the costs at 30,000 to 35,000 EUR.

My question is whether this amount is reasonable. The construction company I am working with is not the cheapest, but 35,000 EUR still sounds quite expensive.

It depends on many factors. But yes, approximately.

As a simple multisplit system, it will most likely be somewhat cheaper. Around 10,000 (10K) less.

I was also told that multisplit systems are significantly cheaper. However, I would prefer to avoid having several outdoor units mounted.

Yes, that’s what you do with a multisplit system. You have one outdoor unit and the required number of indoor units.

What you might be referring to are single-split systems. In that case, you have one outdoor unit per indoor unit.

I have a quote for 4 rooms over 2 floors, multi-split system, but the indoor units are discreetly concealed within the walls, which makes it a bit more expensive. Total price about 16,000 EUR.
