Hello everyone,

We would like to have corner windows but without causing heat loss or additional costs. The corner should also be slightly set back to create a visually appealing overall look.
The house will be built with 48cm (19 inches) Ytong blocks. My idea is to build the corner with a 42cm (16.5 inches) block and install two standard energy-efficient windows at the corner. Either keep the 42cm block length at 500cm (197 inches) and offset them, or cut them down to a 420cm (165 inches) square. This way, there would be two fewer corners afterwards.

The architect suggests using a steel support for the corner, but then the windows would be closer together and might cause problems when opening, right? Also, in my opinion, having the windows closer reduces the amount of natural light.

Are there any other disadvantages or issues we should be aware of? How about the window lintel—are there specific things we need to consider?

I would really appreciate your help again 😳

Best regards,
Judyyy
