Hello

We (female/male) are not sure whether we actually want a corner bathtub after all.

The developer has planned a standard bathtub, but the woman prefers a corner bathtub.

What do you see as the pros and cons of a corner bathtub?

Thank you

Hello

I wanted to ask again about the corner bathtub. The contract states an enamel standard bathtub from a quality manufacturer. What could be the additional cost for a 6-corner bathtub?

Are there any advantages and disadvantages to a 6-corner bathtub?

Thank you

The biggest disadvantage you get with a corner solution is inevitably the increased water consumption; corner bathtubs require more water to be filled to a bathable level.

Next is the question of possible replacement. In my experience, corner bathtub models are not kept in the product range of manufacturers as long as standardized bathtubs. This means that if, for example, the coating of the corner bathtub is damaged (children are not always gentle with environments they see as a playground), it might happen that you can no longer get the installed model and have to switch to a different one. Usually, this also means the supporting structure must be replaced.

We therefore recommend our homeowners reconsider the solution mentioned by "b0012sm". Depending on where and how the standard bathtub is installed in the bathroom, attractive storage areas can be created that look very nice and visually approach the effect of a corner bathtub. However, the advantage is that the bathtub can be replaced quickly and with little effort if necessary.

We managed it during a renovation as shown in the following picture: Costs: bathtub on clearance for 100.00 euros, corresponding tub support frame for 380.00 euros. The corner is drywall construction and then tiled.

You can also do it this way... with a 6-sided bathtub, there would be a sharp corner in the room... here, with a round or even a 4-sided bathtub, it looks more harmonious.

It's all a matter of personal taste

So, we had a corner bathtub installed... and we would definitely do it again...

It simply offers more space inside... we have a 300L (79 gallons) water heater, so there is no issue with water supply... since we can only use the bathtub about once a week due to time constraints, the water consumption remains reasonable...

The manufacturer is a company that has existed since the East German era, and the model has been offered for decades, so I don’t foresee any problems with replacements...

I would be so happy to have one at all. Once or twice a year, when I am on vacation somewhere, I always look forward to it and take a bath. But honestly, that’s enough for the year!
