ᐅ Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery – You Can Hear Every Word from Another Room – Is This Normal?

Hello everyone,
We had the final inspection of our house two weeks ago. Now we have noticed that through the central ventilation system in the guest bathroom and utility room, every word spoken in the dining/kitchen/living area can be heard very clearly, as if you were sitting right next to each other. With the bathroom door open, the sound naturally carries up to the children’s bedrooms upstairs. On the upper floor, the sound transmission through the controlled mechanical ventilation system is significantly less.
Can I still report this as a defect after the final inspection?
Thank you very much and best regards!

The flexible ducts probably have soundproofing properties, but based on their installation position, their purpose is to reduce the noise from the system.
Between the rooms, telephone sound attenuators would need to be installed. Then it would be fine.
Well, it depends again on what was ordered. If the order was:
Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, please!
Then mechanical ventilation with heat recovery was installed.
In my contract, for example, it explicitly states that sound attenuators are installed here and there, and they are also shown in the plans.
With your option (by the way, the spiral ducting is the better choice in terms of maintenance and so on), retrofitting is quite simple.

Then it is probably a Nibe unit as well, for example the ERS 20-250 as an addon or the GV-HR 130-250 as a standalone unit.
What is the size of the ventilated living area? Both units deliver a maximum of 220 m3/h, which is not very much and causes the unit to run at full capacity continuously...
