ᐅ Controlled residential ventilation: How do I find the right provider or system?

Mattes82We are renovating an old building and adding an extension in the next few months. We are currently also considering a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery. A friend recommended Paul ventilation to me…
I have very little knowledge about this topic. I have only briefly read about centralized and decentralized systems, looked into enthalpy exchangers, and read something about thermal recovery pumps.
What is the best way for me to approach this? I don’t have any other acquaintances who have recently installed such a system.
Maybe a few basic details:
About 180 sqm (basement present but not to be included, attic generally not considered living space for now — the mechanical ventilation system could possibly be installed there)
Open fireplace (I need to discuss this with the chimney sweep, as mechanical ventilation and fireplaces are usually tricky)
What rough costs should I expect? (What price range?)

Hello Mattes82,
does "we are renovating" mean you want to do everything yourselves? If so, good luck! Otherwise, at this point I would simply recommend consulting an MEP planner who can competently advise you on this topic independently of any manufacturers. Additionally, I would generally follow the advice of the installer, because they can only properly support what they know well.
Good luck
