Hello,

We have a great controlled residential ventilation system from Zehnder ComfoAir Q450 and are very satisfied with it. In winter, we set the ventilation rate to level 1 (reduced). Currently, the rooms have about 35% relative humidity. In the living room, especially with the use of the tile stove, it sometimes drops below 30%. What should we do?

We are considering installing a humidifier in the living room (just under 60m² (645 sq ft)).

Do you have any tips regarding this? Especially concerning generally low indoor humidity?

Best regards,
Barossi

Is it possible to adjust the humidity on the Zehnder unit?

(Enthalpy) heat exchangers are passive components that do not require adjustment.

Zehnder seems to be a frontrunner, right? I hear a lot of positive feedback...

We were recommended the company Nilan, but unfortunately, they do not support moisture recovery and therefore do not offer it. Hmm [emoji57]

Then I wouldn’t buy their system. We were very skeptical about dry air, and when visiting friends, we always felt uncomfortable. With an enthalpy exchanger, this is not an issue at all. Regardless of the manufacturer, I would install such an exchanger in any new build.

You can't really control moisture.
What percentage do you currently have?
