Hello everyone,
We are considering installing an air conditioning system to cool the house during the hot summer temperatures (which now usually last for a solid 2 to 3 weeks per year).
Has anyone installed an air conditioning system and can share their experience? Do you cool via the underfloor heating system or through the ventilation system?
Best regards,

I find air conditioning very comfortable for cooling down, but the noise can be rather annoying. When on vacation in warmer regions, I never set the bedroom below 17°C (63°F). My husband often ends up feeling very cold.
However, having air conditioning was not a priority for us when building the house.
The highest temperature we recorded last summer in the upper floor was 24°C (75°F) on the hottest days.
We slept with the window open. During the day, the shutters were kept down on the sunny side. We ventilated thoroughly around 6 a.m. and late in the evening.
But: Technology keeps evolving, and with variable flow temperature systems, we expect to find a suitable device for us in the coming years.

I didn’t want to have too many devices on the exterior wall either. It will most likely be a powerful unit installed centrally, with the outdoor part placed on the north wall above the garage. It is planned to be located in the gallery area, where the air can be distributed directly to both the ground floor and the upper floor. The cost is around 3000 to 4000 euros, which I consider worth it.
