Hello everyone,

I currently have the following question: a construction notification does not require a construction access road. It is clear that I still need one, but the authority does not have to be informed about it.

Before you answer, here is the situation: crossing public roads requires a permit from the municipality, which entails fees and conditions. I do not have to cross anything with my property or with the access road to it. My gate is less than one meter (3 feet) from the asphalt road, which has no curb. Therefore, nothing can be damaged by vehicles.

I personally called the authority to ask what I should expect when applying for a construction site access – and they imposed one requirement after another, from width to the surface material (asphalt layer), and so on. The person at the authority barely let me speak. However, the fact is that there are numerous construction sites in the area that do not even have gravel connecting to the road; the “construction road” is only built up on the property itself.

So my question is: do I actually have to apply for the access? If yes, can they really require me to install an asphalt surface, even if that would be completely unreasonable? And what happens if I don’t apply?

In summary: I don’t want to do anything. What consequences should I expect?
