We are planning to build our own home. Aside from buying an existing property, it is becoming increasingly likely that we will realize a house based on our own ideas and wishes. We have now started this process and came home with a thousand ideas :-)
We know that we want to build in the Bauhaus style. Since there are now quite good prefabricated house concepts that suit our room layout, we are not excluding this type of construction. However, even among prefabricated houses, construction methods vary. Many are built using timber frame panels, while others use solid construction methods.
Which forum member can explain the advantages and disadvantages of timber frame panel construction compared to other building methods, and recommend technical literature that provides an overview?
