Hello home construction expert,

Next year, we will be moving into a single-family townhouse (also known as a row house) from a developer. We already signed the purchase contract, or work contract according to §631 of the German Construction Contract Law, last year.
Now, in the declaration of division, we received structural plans (design phase 1: preliminary planning according to HOAI). However, these were copied so small that no measurements can be taken from them.
When we requested the plans in their original size, the developer responded with great incomprehension.

According to common case law, the documents provided when purchasing the building (construction description and plans) are sufficient for the buyer. So our question is:
Do we have the right to receive the delivered plans in their original size?

We look forward to your comments.

I didn’t receive it either. What do you need the original size for?

For example, we received these as a PDF or copied in A3 size, which was more than enough.

Hello, help help,

thank you for your reply.
The plans we received in PDF format are copied so small that the dimensions cannot be read.
After 10 years from issuance, the energy performance certificate becomes invalid. To obtain a new one, the energy consultant ultimately needs the measurements of the building.
In addition, we want the measurements of the interior walls for furnishing the house.
Our question about the original size relates not only to the completeness of the documents but also to a possible future resale.
