Hello,
we have purchased a plot of land near Stuttgart and submitted a building permit application. Unfortunately, the cost estimates keep increasing.
The project is a single-family house with a living area of 250 m² (2690 sq ft), including a double garage and basement, KfW40+ standard.
Can anyone recommend a construction company in the greater Stuttgart area?
Thanks in advance!

Stuttgart071125 Feb 2019 16:44A detached house was not mentioned. A semi-detached house, designed as a single-family home on the property boundary, is planned. The neighboring lot is undeveloped, and there is no obligation for that neighbor to build. Eventually, someone might build next door—or not.

And the offer mentions a semi-detached house (semi-detached house). I thought it was supposed to be a detached single-family home.

We recently purchased a plot of land in the Stuttgart/Sindelfingen area and are now looking for house construction companies. We have already gone through the major prefab house suppliers and also had further discussions with three other providers. Now, we would like to talk to solid construction (masonry) companies as well, preferably local firms. Unfortunately, I have no overview of this so far, including recommendations.
We would like to build a modern, turnkey house, and the costs should be as predictable as possible in advance. So, more in the direction of a fixed price, although I am open to other options.
Our previous discussions:
Prefab House / Timber Construction
Do you have any specific recommendations for a solid construction company in the Stuttgart / Sindelfingen area?
I would appreciate any advice or tips.
Thank you.

Our previous discussions:
Prefab House / Timber Construction
- Hanse Haus
- Bien-Zenker
- Bittermann & Weiss
- Haus der Handwerker – the conversation was very pleasant but overall did not meet many of our expectations
- FERMO – made a very good impression but unfortunately was significantly too expensive
- Hauser Massivbau – appointment still pending

Hauser solid construction -> date to be confirmedIf you hadn’t mentioned Hauser yourself, I would have recommended them now. We are currently building with them and are really satisfied; they are simply a fair and professional provider. We are truly glad we chose them. Have a look at the new development area in Heimsheim, where they are currently building several Hauser houses.

Could you share some of your experiences with Hauser? How were the initial meetings, how would you rate the price/performance ratio, why did you decide to build with Hauser? And what kind of house are you building?
Otherwise, feel free to share any other recommendations for different providers.

Stuttgart07116 Feb 2020 22:47I can recommend the company Speidel. We also looked at Fermo, but their price was way off. However, price alone isn’t the only deciding factor; ultimately, it’s about the overall construction service and the ability to incorporate your own wishes. We are currently building with Speidel, and despite some initial skepticism, I was proven wrong. I would strongly advise against prefabricated houses, regardless of the manufacturer. There are several prefab houses being built around me right now, and when I see the materials used, I just shake my head. They invest hundreds of thousands in chipboard and insulation, with a few wooden beams in between. In the end, a prefab house with interior finishing only takes about four weeks less than a solid house, but of course, you won’t hear that in Fellbach.
Build a solid house with a basement and preferably monolithic walls without Styrofoam insulation on the exterior. This is much easier to plan and better to design than the prefab kits made from cardboard and gypsum boards.
The tradespeople working with Speidel are from the local region, all down-to-earth and mostly family businesses that have been around for generations. I am very happy with this decision and would choose it again anytime. So far, I am very satisfied with the workmanship and quality. I visit the construction site every day to stay updated on the progress.
Best regards
