Hauser: Well-prepared scope of work, seemed committed, but I only had good and friendly email contact. It’s possible I spoke to someone on the phone once.
The company Köhler didn’t respond to any of my email inquiries for whatever reason. I hope you have a fixed price with them, given the severe price increases.

In my opinion, as long as you are honest, fair, and nuanced in your reports—like @fach1werk usually is—no reasonable person should have a problem with you. I assume all home builders search forums for their company name to check their reputation. In German-speaking countries, the right to freedom of expression still applies.

Köhler was also among my top choices for a long time. The communication was pleasant, Mr. Köhler took his time and was always available for questions.
In the end, I did not proceed with Köhler because the cost estimate was only roughly based on the gross volume of the building. For a reliable quote, we would have had to move into detailed planning, which costs several thousand euros. Although this amount would have been credited if the construction contract was concluded, I decided against this upfront investment since the difference between the initial cost estimate and, for example, FERMO was not really significant.
