Hello,

we have purchased a plot of land near Stuttgart and submitted a building permit application. Unfortunately, the cost estimates keep increasing.
The project is a single-family house with a living area of 250 m² (2690 sq ft), including a double garage and basement, KfW40+ standard.

Can anyone recommend a construction company in the greater Stuttgart area?

Thanks in advance!

I understand that the building application is already in progress. Isn’t it problematic to change things at this stage? The design copyrights belong to the architect, so you would need to start everything from scratch. I think only @budbrd can answer that to clarify the situation.

Yes, and he paid the architect to prepare the building application.
We did it the same way.
The building application was handled by the architect, and someone else takes care of the construction execution.

Did he? That’s just speculation for now, maybe he’s working with a general contractor...

I don't think so; the general contractor usually does not provide a cost estimate. That sounds more like the architect's role.

We thoroughly compared three companies and ended up choosing Fermo. In terms of price, the somewhat trustworthy construction companies were practically identical. Since the build has not started yet, I can’t say for sure if they are really as good as they seem so far. Let’s see...

I understand that the building permit / planning permission is already in progress. Isn’t it a problem to switch companies at this stage? The design rights belong to the architect, so everything would have to be done again from scratch. I think only @budbrd can clarify this and shed some light on the matter.

Would you mind sharing who the other two companies were? Feel free to send me a private message.

Thank you very much for the numerous responses.
I will try to answer all the questions:
Construction location: Ditzingen
Building permit / planning application: was prepared by the architect, further steps have (so far) not been commissioned.
I have already contacted Fermo but have not yet received any feedback. Furthermore, Fermo cannot offer KfW40 certification (their minimum is KfW55).

Why does it have to be week 40?
I believe the actual difference in energy consumption is close to zero.
