Reini123424 Nov 2018 22:01Hello,
we are currently building. Next to the residential house, there is a basement room that serves as the foundation for the garage above. The ceiling of this room (the floor of the garage) was cast with in-situ concrete C25/30.
We will build the garage itself at the earliest in one year, or perhaps only a carport. Until then, the concrete is exposed to the weather and has already been like this for 2 months (8 weeks). I was recently advised that this is not ideal and that I should apply sealing. UV-resistant pond liner was recommended.
Can anyone confirm this or suggest alternatives?

Hi,
I sealed my terrace with pond liner as well. It works perfectly. It’s basically the same material (EPDM) used for flat roof waterproofing. Officially, it’s not approved for this use, but who cares if it’s just a temporary solution.
Just make sure no water can get underneath. For a few euros, I installed a tapered insulation layer made of Styrofoam underneath and screwed an aluminum strip at the wall connection to the house so the liner stands up there and no water can reach it.
It has worked perfectly for 2 years!

I just received a tip about silo liner. Has anyone had any experience with it by any chance?
