Bernd237819 Jan 2019 19:29Hello everyone,
We currently have a small issue – we forgot to include the tile adhesive in the floor construction plan.
Now, in the hallway, we are about 3mm (0.12 inches) above the planned level.
We are currently planning to use 10mm (0.4 inches) floor tiles.
We could...
1. look for 7-8mm (0.28-0.31 inches) tiles (which are rather rare in large formats, right?).
2. live with the 3mm (0.12 inches) difference (does anyone have experience with this? Is it noticeable visually? How does the transition feel?).
3. sand down the 20sqm (215 sq ft) area by 3mm (0.12 inches).
What would you do?
Good luck
Bernd

...no, seriously: 3 mm (0.1 inches) is barely anything.
Which floor covering is considered critical at the transition?
Normally, the transition (door threshold) is leveled over about a meter (3 feet) with some filler, but I think that can be skipped as long as we’re not talking about a centimeter.
