Hello,

We recently moved our band into a basement room of an industrial building. Now we are working on soundproofing. This is mostly done, but the only issue is a window wall that faces outside. It looks something like this (although it is 4 meters (13 feet) wide):

Small square window in a wall, interior view

The best solution seems to be filling it completely with rock wool insulation. How does this affect mold growth? What should be considered, or is it even possible, since there is a window on the outside (temperature fluctuations, airtightness, etc.)?

It’s not absolutely necessary to have ventilation, but it would be nice. What other options are there to insulate this area (it doesn’t have to be completely airtight)?

Replacing the windows is unfortunately not an option due to costs.

Thank you very much for your ideas and tips.

Best regards,
