Nowadays, low-temperature heating systems are also installed with gas in single-family houses. Gas is simply more reliable. Whether or not there is a fireplace, possibly with a water jacket, does not make a difference in this case.

Forget the heat pumps—they are not suitable for this at all. Go for a pellet heating system; it’s much more efficient and easier to operate. You can install an underground tank in the garden if there’s no room inside the house.
