In 2011, I had a new COB-20 installed in my single-family home. Since then, I have been maintaining the heating system myself. For this, I purchase the maintenance kit and follow the instructions carefully.
Now it was time again. The heater no longer ignites reliably; sometimes the three start attempts are not enough, and the shower stays cold. Yesterday, I performed the maintenance again, as usual, precisely following the instructions. Afterwards, I thoroughly checked every step and could not find any mistakes.
Result: worse than before. Apparently, I made a mistake somewhere, or a new problem occurred during the maintenance.
Since today and tomorrow are public holidays and it is difficult to find specialists at this time of year anyway, I now have a problem. The heating is currently turned off, of course.
What could be the cause? What repair attempts could I still try as a skilled DIYer?
Thank you very much for your help!

I’m not sure if my experience with a different oil condensing boiler (about 15 years old, Weishaupt flash burner) will be helpful to you. Here are the problems I encountered and the corresponding solutions.
Unfortunately, the issue that caused about 50% of my problems was a lack of oil.
(After a shutdown, the two-pipe system ran empty or the oil tanks were empty—these had no level indicator.)
After converting to a single-pipe system, the situation improved.
Oil pump defective. It ran but did not deliver oil (repair or replacement of the pump).
Have you measured the oil pressure?
Photodiode dirty. The diode supposedly monitors atomization and prevents ignition if it detects nothing.
Cleaning it was easy.
Condensate from the flue pipe did not drain properly (a part had loosened, changing the slope).

Thanks for your tips. The new nozzle from the original maintenance kit was defective. I cleaned the old nozzle in an ultrasonic cleaner and reinstalled it, and it worked immediately.
Wishing everyone a happy New Year!
