Hello everyone, as shown in the attached picture, I want to close a gap between two roofs. It is a maximum of 5 cm (2 inches) wide, but with a difference in height. These are only wooden storage sheds, but currently rain gets in between and damages the wooden structure over time. The problem is that the two sheds are not the same height and also not the same depth – additionally, they are covered with different roof tiles. A classic solution (extending the substructure and placing a catchment in between) is not an option (also because of the ownership situation of the sheds).

To keep things simple at this spot, my idea was to close the gap with self-adhesive flashing tape (available in a standard size of 30 cm x 5 m (12 inches x 16 feet) at hardware stores) and possibly fix it additionally with mounting adhesive to make it last longer.

Now the question is what you experts think of this idea and whether there might be other possible solutions.

Thanks in advance!
