cutepieHi,
something unfortunate happened. Someone accidentally dropped the mason’s hammer onto the freshly installed laminate flooring, causing a 5 by 5 mm (0.2 by 0.2 inch) dent in the laminate.
The small relief is that it’s on the very first panel of the laminate. Since the tongue side is against the wall, can I replace this panel without having to take up the entire floor again?
I’m asking because with the first panel you install, the tongue is aligned along the wall, so that in the second row you have a groove to insert the next tongue and so on. In this case, it would be the other way around—I would have to insert the groove into the tongue. Is this possible? Can the panel be removed at all? And how reliable would this “attempt” be? The dent is quite minor, so the risk may not be worth it if the attempt might fail.
