Hello everyone,

I have a question.
I have a gap, basically an air space, within the insulation.
Is this problematic?
Attached is an explanatory sketch.

Best regards :-)

If the collar beam level is insulated, I don’t see a reason to add more insulation above that. In other words, I would stop the rafter insulation at this height.

Hi,
this was done because the helpers had already done it that way themselves.
Now I am questioning it.
Could the clearance cause any damage?

Why should that cause any damage? The free space is outside the thermal envelope.

The fact that the insulation on the sloping ceiling was installed up to above the ridge beam might have the advantage that if the attic is converted later, the work can continue from there.
