The house we are currently purchasing has a tiled floor. Unfortunately, we do not know what type of tiles these are.
We would like to clean the tiles and then protect them again, possibly seal them.
Can anyone identify the type of tiles based on the photos?

Large hall floor made of dark stone slabs; metal step ladder on the right, carpet at the bottom right.

Blue door with chevron-patterned panels, brown doormat and shoes on the right in the hallway.

You can ask the owners what they are and how they cleaned them. I assume these are natural slate stone tiles. So, use a common cleaner for natural stone.

I agree. It looks like slate (or a similar stone).

I was also thinking about stone. If it is slate: do not use acidic or alkaline cleaning agents. Water is best. Avoid waterlogging. You can sometimes remove old stains with a poultice. Once stains have fully set, you can either accept them as a patina or consult a stone restoration specialist.
