Smartdriver20 Feb 2022 11:25Hello,
We have been offered a house with interior masonry walls and brick cladding around the outside. However, the exterior rendering of the brick joints has been missing for a few years.
Could the masonry have been damaged because of this?
What approximate costs should I expect for the rendering work (dimensions about 13m x 10m (42.7 ft x 32.8 ft), gable roof)?

Do you mean the joint smoothing on the exterior brickwork? I can’t imagine anything like an interior masonry layer on the outside—please show some pictures.

Smartdriver20 Feb 2022 12:41Thank you for your response, @Zubi123. This would definitely satisfy us; we had planned for up to 5000. Should we expect any damage because this hasn’t been done for such a long time? (As a layperson, I would think the masonry should be sufficiently protected by the cement between the bricks.)
@11ant Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos. Basically, it’s missing the

Should we still be concerned about potential damage, or is this ultimately just a matter of completing the appearance?
