I have often read here as a guest and have successfully addressed or even solved some issues with your help. Now I have a question that I haven’t been able to find an answer to, possibly because it is quite specific (or I, as a layperson, simply don’t know the right technical terms to search for).
Problem: In the photo, you see the final layer of our house. In front of this area, the splash protection will be installed, which we are doing ourselves. Our site manager assured us several times that this insulation is the final layer and that dimpled membrane (drainage membrane) can be applied directly on top of it.
However, this didn’t seem quite right to me, so I wanted to double-check with the technical supervisor of the respective trade. He confirmed this but also said there might be something else that could be done. Overall, it was a very vague statement. They refused to provide anything in writing.
Our landscaping company, which is also working on our terrace, had no idea about this and referred us to a partner company (painting contractor), who gave us some vague explanations and said they would send us a quote. After more than four weeks, we still haven’t received anything. They said they are very busy.
Now we are at a loss. What can/should/must we do here before starting the splash protection? Or can we confidently begin with the splash protection? Who else could we consult? Is it worthwhile to get opinions or quotes from other specialists, or would that just lead to unnecessary expenses?
About me: I am a complete layperson. There are a few skilled hobbyists in the family, but none of them could help with this question, as new construction is new ground for many of us anyway.
Thank you very much for your help
