Hello community,
I’m new here and hope I’ve found the right section. Since we recently bought a house, I expect to be here more often.
The previous owner covered the bathroom wall above the tile splashback with wood paneling.
Now I want to replace it with drywall. I plan to level the height difference to the tiles using wooden strips and joint compound.
Additionally, a suspended ceiling will be installed to accommodate LED spotlights.
The bathroom is located on the upper floor, and above it is an uninsulated attic space.
Because of the cold above the bathroom, I’m concerned about mold forming in the ceiling and the timber cavities within the wall.
How would you approach this?
Would a vapor barrier help?
For the wooden substructure and drywall panels, I am considering using treated materials.
Thank you very much.
Best regards
