Hello,

I need to build the support for my bathtub myself, and I plan to use aerated concrete blocks for this. Now I’m wondering how wide the blocks need to be because of the water connections. I’ve attached a photo with a scale.

At first, I thought the entire connection should be covered by the blocks (about 20.4cm (8 inches)), but I’ve seen at my neighbor’s place that the white part (about 7cm (3 inches)) sticks out. Which is correct? Does it really matter down to the millimeter or centimeter, or can I use standard block sizes (like 11.5cm (4.5 inches) or 15cm (6 inches) wide), or do I need to cut the blocks to fit?

Thanks!

The caps on the front are the sealing plugs. If you build them into the wall, no water will ever come out.

Hello

The white parts are construction plugs. They will be removed during the installation of the bathtub filler valve.
Your wall build-up can be constructed up to 19cm (7.5 inches).

You can also easily extend the connections if you have built the wall too wide.
