A hip roof is mainly used for houses that feature strong symmetry in geometric shapes. A hip roof is typically constructed as a truss roof structure.
The truss roof structure consists of so-called wooden trusses. One disadvantage is the loss of usable space in the attic. There is limited floor area in the attic. Has anyone given thought to how an alternative roof design might create more space? I’m not sure if, for a square-shaped house, a hipped roof could be an option, among others. In a discussion here, I read about a carpenter’s roof, but there was no image or drawing provided, so I cannot visualize what that looks like.

We also have a square house with a hip roof, and it works perfectly.

Choose a studio binder. Bind the sides. Standing height in the center.
