House Design
Designer:
-
planner from a construction company
What do you particularly like? Why?
-
As non-homeowners, we find the design very nice and think it should fit us very well.
What do you not like? Why?
-
The fireplace flue. We are unsure if it fits well so that the smoke can be properly vented above.
Price estimate according to architect/planner:
-
$410,000
Personal budget limit for house including fixtures:
-
open
Preferred heating system:
-
air-to-water heat pump

If you had to give up on any details / expansions
- What can you do without:
-
dressing room in the bedroom
- What you cannot do without:
-
guest WC shower, study, fireplace

Why is the design as it is now?
Standard design from the planner with small wall adjustments
What do you think makes it particularly good or bad?

What is the most important/basic question about the floor plan in 130 characters or less?

What do you think of the floor plan? How do you find the number and arrangement of windows? What is good and what could be improved? How could the fireplace flue (by the way room-air-independent) be solved? And anything else we might have missed
House dimensions 10.12m x 8.99m (33.2 ft x 29.5 ft)

Floor plan: kitchen on the left, living room with dining table, hallway in the middle, guest room on the right, staircase.

Actually, I don’t (yet) have any measurements except for those of the exterior walls.

But I will check to see if I can provide more later.

That’s tough. No roof allowed.

I was really expecting at least 12m² (130 sq ft). But then...
Well, we’ll wait for the exact measurements.

Well, in my next life, I will definitely become a draftsman.

A roof is of course allowed.. cool:

Draw your existing or desired furniture to scale once.

The dining area might be a bit tight.

I don’t like the entrance area including the stairs and the nasty gap between the wall and the stairs.

The utility room including laundry and storage is very small. I expected it to be larger.

Is there no bathtub in the bathroom?

Where is south?
I must have missed it.

I also don’t like the stairs on the upper floor.
