ᐅ Choosing the Color of Windows and Roller Shutters

We have a small dilemma with our upcoming build regarding the color of the windows and roller shutters. We would like to have windows in Winchester color (both sides coated). Unfortunately, the window manufacturer does not offer matching roller shutter slats in that color. Therefore, we are considering choosing the roller shutters in anthracite (the same as the roof). However, we haven’t been able to find any pictures of this combination. Then there is the question of what color the guide rails and the trim should be, as these are available in Winchester.

To summarize, we are currently torn between:

- Winchester windows with roller shutter slats in anthracite. What color should the guide rails and trim be?
- Or quite plain windows in anthracite (coated on one side; white on the other) with roller shutters also in anthracite.

Does anyone perhaps have the same color combination and can offer some advice?

But only in comparison. Viewed separately, a "normal" anthracite.
No, 7021 is anthracite without a bluish tint. "Normal" 7016 is only considered so because of its wide use – seven oh one six is the new standard gray *LOL*

Well, you could definitely try a lighter alternative, possibly even RAL 5008 grey blue, which is kind of like 7016 without the anthracite hue ;-)

I think the difference between Schüco and Veka would depend on the dealer, regarding which way the difference leans. And there’s also Kömmerling to mention as a third option in this category. By now, it should be well known that I recommend Gealan for "colored" PVC windows due to co-extrusion instead of foil lamination.

Thanks very much for the tip!

Alternatively, we noticed Veka’s Veka Spectral product range. The color selection immediately appeals to us. Has anyone installed these windows? What is the approximate price difference for a standard size compared to Veka’s "standard product"?

Whether it’s plain vanilla doesn’t really matter.
And yes, in the color palette 7016 has a blue tint. But when you look at it separately, the tint disappears.
7021 is almost pure black. Gray-black. But when examined on its own, it looks more like black rather than gray or anthracite.

However, I would consider "graphite black" to be a darker anthracite than "anthracite" (and the latter only slightly less blue-tinted than 7016).

That is actually also our first impression :-)
