Hello, we are currently planning our bungalow.
It won’t be very large, about 140 sqm (1500 sq ft), with two small children soon.

Now I’m wondering how big the children’s rooms should be.
I’m worried they might be too small when the kids grow up. Or do they hardly spend time there anyway?

The children’s rooms are planned to be 13 sqm (140 sq ft) each.
The parents’ bedroom is 15 sqm (160 sq ft) with a walk-in closet.

The complete floor plan will be shared once everything is fully planned, and then you can take it apart and review it.
Good luck!

Oh, this discussion is getting interesting again… pros here, cons there...

I’ll keep it factual.

125 sqm (1,345 sq ft) over two floors, 2 children’s bedrooms each 12 sqm (130 sq ft) with a shared terrace of 14 sqm (150 sq ft).

Originally, 12 sqm (129 sq ft) were planned, but even 1 sqm (11 sq ft) more already looked significantly more spacious in reality, which I did not expect either.

I always think:
I only sleep in the bedroom, nothing else.
The children sleep and live in their rooms. They spend large parts of their lives there, maybe even 25 years if they study, for example.
So why should I make the bedroom large and the children's rooms small?

We have almost square 15m² (160 ft²) for the children's rooms and 13m² (140 ft²) for the bedroom. Even less would have been sufficient.

We have it exactly like DNL and believe that it fits very well this way. I can only agree with the reasoning. As parents, you only sleep in your bedroom, but the children spend a lot of time in theirs. Therefore, theirs are also larger than ours.

Similar for us: 17 sqm (183 sq ft) per child, 13 sqm (140 sq ft) including a small walk-in closet for us. Previously, we had a 30 sqm (323 sq ft) bedroom and it was fully furnished (the rest of the apartment was rather cramped).
