ᐅ "Children's Bathroom" – Large Bathtub or Two Smaller Ones?

Hello everyone,

In the children's bathroom, we have space for a 1–1.20 m (3 ft 3 in–3 ft 11 in) washbasin. I have been thinking for days about what is better—a large basin with two taps or two smaller basins, but separate?

I actually like the idea of two basins, but I’m concerned that if they are too small, there might be regular overflows.

We have a daughter and a son. They probably won’t use the bathroom at the same time later on anyway, but on the other hand, there might be sleepover guests more often, and then the bathroom will be used simultaneously again.

Or maybe the bathroom will be converted into a men's bathroom, in which case it would also be nice if father and son had separate basins...

What experiences do you have? Oh, and at what age does a child usually shower all by themselves?

Ok, I should have phrased it better. I am responsible for eight washrooms. "Washrooms" is probably a better term than "baths," since only one of them will actually have a bathtub. Since we are building a new company building alongside our house at the same time, there are also several rooms there that need to be furnished.

Hello,

We also included a children's bathroom with a double sink for our two daughters in our new build.

That looks great! How wide is it overall? I also really like the tiles behind the sinks. Would you mind sharing what kind they are?

You're welcome!

The washbasin is from Ideal Standard, the Connect series, the double washbasin.

The tiles are from Marazzi, Colourline series. They come in various colors that can also be combined.

But – the blue tiles really catch the eye. Of course, you can also go for a tone-on-tone look. Overall, the tiles are very high quality and attractive.

Maybe this type of double vanity is available a bit narrower from other manufacturers?

I don’t think having two sinks is excessive. However, the common point about countertop space is quite valid. If the space for two basins is tight, I would consider using just one sink and planning a “vanity unit” instead. I think that’s a great solution. And again on the topic of two sinks: I have four siblings, all brothers. At a certain age, having an extra sink definitely comes in handy—especially once the first facial hairs start growing. Nobody can brush their teeth at the same time otherwise ^^ Best regards

Hi Panama,

We also have enough space for a 1.20-meter (4 feet) basin, but we decided on a 75 cm (30 inches) basin so that there is still comfortable space on both sides for towel holders.

Mediano furniture washbasin. Available in many widths.

Floor plan of a bathroom with shower (shower channel), toilet, washbasin, glass partition, and heated towel rail.
