Hello,
I am planning to have a cement-based self-leveling screed installed. The screed installer told me that cement-based self-leveling screed no longer needs to be ground. However, I am a bit skeptical about that. I wonder if this type of screed still has a cement slurry on the surface that needs to be removed. And will the screed be flat enough so that this does not show through the floor covering (click vinyl)?
I have also read that cement-based self-leveling screed is more prone to cracking and can develop hollows. Does anyone have experience with this?
Additionally, I read online that the screed should not be installed below 5 degrees Celsius (41°F), which might be challenging during the winter season. Does anyone know the reason for this minimum temperature requirement?
Best regards and thank you in advance for your replies
