Hello everyone,

We are considering buying a house (already completed). However, there is a mobile phone mast with several antennas about 40 meters (130 feet) away from the house.

Buy or leave it? How would you decide?

No, that is correct. The emitted radiation is actually higher!!!

A transmitting antenna with, for example, 40 watts of radiated power on a 20-30 meter (65-100 feet) tall mast can, depending on its orientation, cover a larger area (e.g., 30 plots) at a distance of 200 meters (220 yards) with an average power density of 200-500 μW/m². If I have a Wi-Fi router in the utility room, the power density very close by (0.5 meters (1.6 feet) distance) is around 500-1000 μW/m², but the power decreases significantly with every meter of distance. A partition wall made of perforated bricks or a concrete slab makes a big difference here, as it significantly dampens the router’s radiation cone early on. For instance, in my bedroom, which is located on the upper floor opposite the utility room (concrete ceiling), less than 1 μW/m² from the router can be measured. This is just enough to load simple web pages. By contrast, during the interior construction phase without protective coating, I measured over 200 μW/m² from the mobile phone mast inside the bedroom, continuously affecting the area. The key factors are not only the transmission power but especially the orientation of the radiation cone, the duration of exposure, and direct line of sight to the transmitter.

Wonderful, another gathering of esoteric believers here.
Once again, a clear example that people are unable to accurately assess real risks.
Radon, no problem; poor diet and lack of exercise, no problem; the doctor will fix it.
But a cell tower!!!!! Yes, that will surely send you six feet under.
This is exactly why the coronavirus issue got so massively out of hand.

You probably have a tower somewhere yourself and are now putting on blinders because you want to deny or ignore the potential danger (WHO!). Otherwise, I can’t explain the esoteric comparison in what has been a rather factual discussion so far.
And by the way, this is not about radon, coronavirus, or climate change.

Everyone in the city does. I also live under one and from my balcony on the 6th floor I can see at least half a dozen antennas. None of us here is growing a third arm or anything like that.
Therefore, I can only agree with apokolok. When it comes to a transmission mast, it’s negligible.

Quotes from the WHO: "After recent thorough research of the scientific literature, the WHO has concluded that the current state of knowledge does not confirm the existence of any health effects from exposure to low-level electromagnetic fields." "At present, there is no scientific evidence for a connection between these symptoms and exposure to electromagnetic fields. At least some of these health issues could be caused by noise or other environmental factors, or by anxiety related to the ubiquity of new technologies." "However, it is certain that—if electromagnetic fields do have a carcinogenic effect—the additional risk must be extremely small. The results found so far contain many inconsistencies, but no significant additional risks for any type of cancer in children or adults have been identified to date."

@WingVII: Now let’s get to the point. Please explain to all of us and to the original poster your findings and where you got them from. So far, you’ve simply thrown in a "WHO!" or similar and tried to spread fear by leaving out relevant information (keyword Brazilian study).

This is actually completely counterproductive. It’s great that no radiation is coming from the router or nearby cell tower, but your phone is working hard trying to send data, significantly increasing radiation exposure. Unless you don’t use any devices in the house, which doesn’t seem to be the case.

Such quotes fuel the arguments of conspiracy theorists, denialists, and contrarians. Because one might interpret it as meaning that a connection could exist but simply hasn’t been discovered yet, and until then everything is deliberately harmful. It only takes a few loud voices on the internet, and there are enough people willing to believe it.
