As someone who grew up with wooden ceilings, I wonder: how are interior ceilings designed nowadays? My friend says wallpapering... how have you done it? (Solid house with wooden intermediate ceiling)

Visible wooden beam ceiling, very lightly white pigmented. The color is barely noticeable; you could almost have added a bit more white.
I only have this picture with water damage.
Light wood ceiling made from parallel boards with visible knots.

Currently, in my rental apartment, I have this ceiling...
I really like it a lot.
However, I won’t be building a wooden house myself, so the ceiling will be plastered with acoustic perforations to absorb sound.

Definitely open. E
Bright open dining area with wooden table, black chairs, large pendant light, window.

Once you have open ceilings, you don’t want anything else… (bungalow.)
Kitchen with white cabinets, glass door cabinet, and visible wooden beam ceiling.

I am going with Nordlys and Kaho is joining as well. Our ceilings are only plastered and sanded (concrete like drywall) and then painted.

Plaster, leased, sanded, and then a spray plaster trowel with 2mm (0.08 inch) grain applied using a machine.

Solid wood house: board-stacked ceiling on the ground floor, wooden beam ceiling on the upper floor. Both painted with white pigmented paint with UV protection to prevent darkening over time. Since cherry parquet flooring is installed throughout (except in the bathrooms and hallway), a dark ceiling would have been too much for me. I can provide pictures if desired.
