ᐅ Ceiling light – color of the supply cable and ceiling canopy

bauenmk2020Hello,
I have purchased a black ceiling light fixture with hanging lampshades. The ceiling canopy is black, and the ceiling is white. Now I need to run about 20cm (8 inches) of cable from the ceiling outlet to this canopy. Which color would look better: white or black? This concerns the junction box canopy and the supply cable.
One more question: Should the cable be installed neatly (straight, unobtrusive), or is it acceptable to let the supply cable hang loosely?

bought with hanging lampshades. And what are they hanging from? Based on that, I would choose the length of the cable at the top.
We also have a similar lamp setup but never really thought about it. Just looked while writing: white… wouldn’t have been able to say without checking. What I mean is: it really doesn’t matter 🙂

Same problem.. We chose "white" and "straight".. as discreet as possible.
We also had to use a wooden strip because we were not allowed to drill into the lamp (for the cable outlet) due to warranty and possible returns.
Thanks! Yes, it looks something like that for us too! Except that part is black. I hadn’t really thought about the drilling issue – regarding returns if the lamp is not liked or doesn’t work.
Do manufacturers always assume the lamp will be installed directly under the ceiling outlet?

Do manufacturers always assume that the lamp will be mounted directly below the outlet?I found the solution from the manufacturer for our lamp quite unfortunate at the time. You could really only install it without damage directly beneath the wall outlet. I even contacted the manufacturer/seller, and they confirmed that if I drilled into the lamp, I would lose the right to return or warranty. So we came up with the idea of using a mounting strip. The necessary hole for the cable is now in the wood 🙂
Here is another view from a different angle… I would also recommend white, as it simply looks the least noticeable.
