Hi,

what do you think about a ceiling heating system with a cooling function? Does anyone have any experience with this? Since selling my condominium leaves me no choice, I would still be interested in your opinions. So far, I only know about underfloor heating systems and can’t really imagine much about this, especially regarding operating costs.

Thanks!

Great for cooling, but heating is more of a compromise.

In what way? Since the condominium is at the very top, I hope to have advantages over the apartments below me.

For the reason:

The temperature profile is phase-shifted relative to the human.

If I understand correctly, this falls into the category of classic radiators and underfloor heating. The floor seems to be warm, but unfortunately, there is a slight "cold front" down below. Is cooling then the only advantage – although I wonder how that actually works? There really isn't much to support that...

The underfloor heating provides a temperature distribution that closely matches the ideal for humans when standing. In contrast, ceiling heating does not, as it simply results in a hot head, to put it bluntly.

When it comes to cooling, the effect is desired exactly there. Warm air naturally rises, gets cooled, and then falls down again. This way, you get a cool head.
