Hello everyone,

I joined this forum to ask a few questions and hopefully find some answers 🙂

We are currently interested in a 300 m² (approximately 3,230 sq ft) plot in Baden-Württemberg. The plot will be developed with a semi-detached house, and the other semi-detached house is already built. The existing house does not have a basement. However, we are considering building a basement. A waterproof concrete structure („white tank“) is recommended in this development area.

What would it approximately cost to underpin or support the neighboring semi-detached house?

Thank you very much.

Good luck, Timo

The exact cost can only be determined once the geotechnical report is available, as the structural engineer’s recommendation for underpinning the existing semi-detached house depends on it. Since execution according to DIN yxz (commonly referred to as a waterproof concrete structure) is already recommended, costs between roughly 10,000 and 15,000 euros are quite possible.
